Calzone from the Omelette Maker

Our omelette maker 'Oskar' is a true all-rounder. It can make omelettes, fry eggs, make French toast, and even bake small sweet cakes. But that’s not all! We've now tried making a pizza calzone. Successfully! And of course, we’re happy to share our recipe for calzone from the omelette maker with you.

Calzone from the Omelette Maker – OM 950 by Rommelsbacher
serves 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 roll of refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
  • 2 slices of salami
  • 1 slice of cooked ham
  • ½ onion
  • Mozzarella
  • 1 small can of diced tomatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oregano
  • Sunflower oil

Optional:

  • some grated Parmesan cheese and garlic

PREPARATION

  • Take the pizza dough out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature.
  • After 10 minutes, roll out the dough and use a rolling pin to make it a bit thinner.
  • Cut two circles about 21 cm in diameter. (For example, place a dessert plate on the dough and cut around it with a knife.)
  • Spread the diced tomatoes on the dough circles and cover one half with slices of mozzarella.
  • Cut the salami, ham, and onion into small pieces and sprinkle them over the mozzarella.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  • If desired, add grated Parmesan and garlic for extra flavor.
  • Fold the dough circle in half. Pull the bottom edge over the top edge and press down firmly. Make sure the calzone is sealed properly!
  • Brush the top and bottom of the calzone with a little oil.
  • Preheat the Omelette Chef Oskar OM 950. When it's ready to use, place the calzones inside, close the lid, and let them bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the pizza calzones from the maker and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
  • Now you can enjoy them!
