That’s why at Rommelsbacher, we’ve continued to improve and modernize our sandwich makers to meet the needs of today’s kitchens.
In this recipe, the savory muffins aren’t baked in a muffin tin but in a sandwich maker—hence the quirky name. Since plate sizes can vary by model, the batter makes around 8 to 10 wedges.
- Serves: 3–4 people
- Equipment: Sandwich maker
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 250 ml milk
- 125 g margarine
- 1/2 sachet baking powder
- 250 g flour
- 1 tbsp pizza herbs (or oregano, salt, pepper, marjoram, curry powder)
- 75 g crispy fried onions
- 125 g bacon bits
- 100 g grated cheese
- 3 sun-dried tomatoes in oil, finely sliced
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients to form a smooth batter. Thanks to the cheese and bacon, no extra salt is needed.
- Preheat your sandwich maker. Pour the batter in batches into the baking plates. The batter will rise slightly, so avoid overfilling.
- After baking for about 10–12 minutes, the pizza muffin wedges will turn golden brown and can be removed.
- They’re the perfect match for a fresh mixed salad!
